OnBoard 2016 Youth Programme
It’s that time of year again, and the start of the sailing season is not that far away. As you may have guessed, we’re planning to build on last year’s youth team successes and run another set of Saturday Youth Squads with the intention of another 12 Hour Race!
So, here’s the plan:
The sessions will run on Saturdays, starting on March 19th at 10:30am. We are running these session through the RYA OnBoard this year. It will cost you £5.00 per session or you can pay £20.00 for all the sessions which will give you drinks and cakes as well! Here's an application form
Depending on the people joining in this year we will firm up the training and activity plans but initially we are planning to split the group into two groups:
- One group will be the beginners group where we will run through the RYA method of training.
- The other group will be for more advanced sailors where we will be practice for the Southport 12hr. Were we will be aiming to work on spinnaker work in the GP14, as well as putting emphasis on tacking and gybing, boat handling and race starts.
